The Circle Jerks are responsible for one of the most memorable nights of my life.

Seriously.

On June 11, 1981, I got my first driver's license, lost my virginity, and opened for the Circle Jerks at the old 9:30 club in Washington, D.C. with my band, Minor Threat. I showed up at sound check directly from the DMV with my new license and my mom's car. Greg Hetson broke the ice - "hey! my dad has a car just like this!" A lifetime bond was thus forged - apparently we both were driven to school in light blue 1977 Mercedes-Benz 240 diesels. Suffice to say, the show was amazing, and for me, the night ended with a wonderful woman whose name I never got. So if you want to fuck strangers and drive a Benz, get busy with the Jerks.

BB out.
